BCC DARK ROAST DETAILS
THE HARVEST
This coffee was grown using organic practices by certified organic producers at origin.
Our Ranch N' Roast comes from the ACODIHUE cooperative in the mountainous territory of Cuchumatan, Huehuetenango near the border with Mexico. Ranch N' Roast is grown and produced by indigenous women who are now the owners of their land as a result of widowing from a civil war and men migrating into the United States. ACODIHUE certified the women producers as Manos de Mujer (Women’s Hands) to recognize the hard work of these women and their contribution to both their households and to the national economy. Only 22% of ACODIHUE's annual production goes under the designation of Café con Manos de Mujer, representing a refined selection of the cooperative's coffee. The ripe Ranch N' Roast coffee is picked by hand during the harvest season, which begins shortly after Christmas and lasts until nearly Easter. The coffee is grown at an average elevation of 1500 meters above sea level. The most common varieties are Red and yellow Bourbon, as well as Typica and Caturra.
Cultivar: Bourbon, Caturra, Catuai, and Pache
Elevation: 1400-1600 MASL
Process: Washed
THE ROAST ( DARK )
Roasted on a Bellwether roaster with using our signature dark roast profile. Each small batch is taste tested for quality control to ensure we deliver the same great taste with every can of the roast.
The Ranch N' Roast is a sweet and approachable coffee, defined by notes of Bing cherry, nougat, and almond brittle. A returning favorite, this coffee delivers the familiar, comforting profile our customers know and love, with a rich, caramelized sweetness that deepens beautifully across roast levels. In lighter roasts, the coffee is clean and bright, with fresh cherry, honey, orange, and a soft nougat sweetness. At medium, the profile becomes rounder and more coating, with almond brittle and caramel creating a syrupy, structured cup with a lingering citric quality. As the roast darkens, brown sugar, dried cherry, roasted almond, and dark chocolate take over, eventually settling into praline and bakers chocolate with a long, coating finish. This coffee shines across every roast level, offering something worth highlighting no matter where you take it. Whether as a drip, espresso, single origin, or blend component, the Guatemala Manos de Mujer is a truly versatile and reliable choice.
